OH HAI OCTOBER. It's no lie this my favourite month of the year! The weather starts to get colder, the cosy nights in come become more frequent, my relationship with Netflix goes to the next level and everything Halloween themed gives me all the happiness.
I love that the seasonal products that get released (I'm looking at you Lush) and the amazing scents that come with them. Not only that, I get to raid the Homesense and TKMaxx candle section as often as possible, just throw my money away on candles I'm probably not going to get round to burning for the next 5 years. As the old saying goes.. YOLO.
After looking at my current collection the other day, I realised I didn't have a single cold weather candle, they were all Summer scents. For someone who loves Autumn and Winter, I had to question myself.. hard (and whisk myself off to Homesense to lose all self control in the candle aisle as quickly as possible).
Before I knew it, I was £30 down at the till and 6 candles and 1 box of pumpkin fairy lights later. I REGRET NOTHING.
Some of my favourite candles I picked up were the DW Home Pumpkin Spice, DW Home Fresh Cranberry, Sand + Fog Pumpkin Harvest and DW Home Frosted Leaves. They all have their own unique smell and I am obsessed with them. I also grabbed a No. 3 Pomegranate Noir candle from Aldi which is a legit Jo Malone dupe for just £3.99!
Also how could I forget.. THE FASHION. I love the cold weather so much and big cosy knit jumpers, blanket scarves and bobble hats literally just consume my entire wardrobe until at least next Spring. I'm currently obsessed with this yellow hat from New Look and cream fluffy cardigan from Primark.
I'm also loving tea dresses at the moment. They are the perfect transitional piece for this time of the year, as well as being easy to style with a leather jacket, tights and ankle boots. I recently picked up this cute Lola Floral Ruffle Tea Dress in Red from Boohoo and I'm not going to lie, I bloody love it!
Makeup wise, the darker the better - aka palettes and lipsticks! My favourite eye shadow palette at the moment has to be the Morphe 35O. I've had a bit of a love/hate relationship with this because I LOVE all of the colours, however the shadows didn't seem to blend nicely at all when I first got it. After trial and error with different brushes and primers, I've finally got them to work!
For a more affordable alternative, my favourite autumnal palettes are definitely the Makeup Revolution New-trals vs Neutrals and Flawless 3. They are so easy to blend and the shades are so pretty and pigmented. Highly recommend!
Onto lipsticks. Some of my absolute staples are my trusty Rimmel Kate Moss 107 & Rimmel The Only One Matte Lipstick in Look Who's Talking*, Seventeen Mega Matte in Rioja Your World* and Clinique Pop in Cherry Pop. These are gorgeous dark, berry shades everyone needs in their A/W collection.
Of course this wouldn't be an Autumnal post without mentioning the beloved Bath & Body Works. Sadly, we don't actually have one of these in the UK but sometimes you can get lucky on Amazon with certain seasonal products or a website called Bath And Body Shop.
I managed to grab some Pocketbac Hand Sanitisers in Pumpkin Cranberry Cider & Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte from Amazon for 99p each (at the time) - it was just the postage which bumped the price right up - SO worth it though!
So, I think that's about it! I can't wait to see what exciting things this season brings - there is so much to look forward to! Let me know what your favourite things about Autumn are in the comments! :)
