Christmas Eve Traditions
Source.
How I spend Christmas Eve has changed a heck of a lot over the years. I remember it never used to be that big of a deal when my sister and I were younger, it just wasn't really celebrated in our household. I guess the 'rents just had to prepare themselves for a day of excitement the next morning, and of course we were blackmailed by the fact Santa wouldn't arrive if he knew we were still awake!
For the last couple of years, I've usually had the week off leading up to Christmas, meaning I can get all of the last minute bits and bobs done and catch up on all those must-see films! This year, sadly I am working on Christmas Eve. I guess I can't really complain as it's only a 3 hour shift, but y'know.. At 12 o'clock tomorrow is when the real fun starts!

In previous years, we would either do nothing, or go and visit my Stepdads family over in Chichester. This was really nice because we don't tend to see them all that often! This year, I am finishing work, wrapping the last of the presents (maybe even pick up some last minute ones) and heading off to Jacks.

We usually give each other the odd stocking filler and then head down to the local pub with his family! This is generally the day I feel the most festive; there's something about being in traditional pub on Christmas Eve, everyone just seems to love everyone!

I usually stay over and then drive back home Christmas morning (hopefully not too hungover) back to my family! Last year was the first Christmas Eve I haven't spent at home and admittedly, it was a little weird, but the drive home the next day was the best thing ever. Radio 1 had the most amazingly good Christmas playlist I've ever heard - I've never been such a morning person in my life (whilst screeching to Driving Home For Christmas and 2 become 1!).

This year, I'm sure will be very similar and I cannot wait!

How do you spend your Christmas Eve? :)
