We all do it. We all have our own bad habits which seem to be becoming more and more taboo these days - especially in the beauty blogging world. I mean, obviously we have some great habits too but in reality, is anyone perfect? Here are my top 7 that I am most guilty of..
1. Nail Biting
I know, I'm sorry. There's just something about nails I just can't deal with. To be honest with you, since a young age they've always made me cringe. It's just the thought of them breaking, scratching down a chalk board *shudder* or bending backwards is too unbearable to think about.
Another thing is once you start biting them, no matter how hard you try to stop, it's literally impossible!
2. Picking my mascara off my eyelashes.
*buys new mascara*
Wow, this is seriously flakey, it's all over my face.
Oh wait.. That was just me picking it off.
3. Painting my nails and leaving them chipped for a good week without touching them up.
That's if I can even be arsed to paint them in the first place.
4. Using makeup wipes when I'm too tired or I come in drunk after a night out.
As if my breakout, hangover skin wasn't going to be bad enough. You think my drunken (or more likely sober, lazy brain) would think logically and just spend 2 minutes on a skincare routine. To be fair, I could forget altogether and sleep with makeup on, so I guess it could be worse?
5. Using Dry Shampoo one too many days in a row.
To the point it's not even working anymore and your hair is itching like you have had an outbreak of nits. Okay, maybe that's slightly extreme but washing my hair is probably my biggest chore, purely because there is soooo much of it!
6. Not using Heat Protection Spray enough.
''I barely ever straighten my hair, so it doesn't really count, right?''
You think the words 'heat protection' should have been enough to spell it out to my narrow mind that a hairdryer is also very bad for your hair. Luckily, I usually let my hair dry naturally so it's not too much of an issue!
7. Forgetting to clean the makeup brushes every week.
Okay, I do have a fairly legit excuse that time flies way too fast? I actually find cleaning brushes very therapeutic but finding the time to sit there and wash away is often a lot easier said than done.
Do you have any bad beauty habits you find hard to shake?

ReplyDeleteShaving my legs ! Sometimes I go like 10 days before I realise. Don't even care - we all do it and don't admit it haha 😂😂
ReplyDeleteHahaha, omg same here! So should have put that one in hahaha!! xxxx
DeleteI swear I just fail with nail polish, I need to just give up as it always looks so bad when chipped!

Hahaaha, it's so hard to maintain isn't it?! I get customers telling me how I need to paint them sometimes... that's when you know they're bad haha! xxx
DeleteI am guilty of biting my nails too, and sometimes I try to pick nail varnish off when it chips instead of using remover 🙈

Oh yes! I totally do the same or just paint over the old polish.. Oops! 🙈 Xx
DeleteI rarely clean my brushes, I can't be bothered!! I used to bite my nails until I started getting gel nails, makes them impossible to bite xx

Oooo gel nails sounds nice! May have to look into those :) I put some fake ones on the other day and it was impossible to do anything so we'll see haha! Xx
DeleteMy bad beauty habit is also not cleaning my brushes haha! I have far too many and not enough motivation to do them, ain't nobody got time for that. x

Hahaha that is my favourite saying ever!! Yep I totally agree, you can never have too many though! ;)
DeleteThe hardest thing to clean is the Beautyblender! X
I do so many of these things it's ridiculous. I've been rocking a messy bun/dry shampoo combo for the last week because I'm so lazy to wash my hair! :)

Haha you champ! I can definitely understand that! Dry shampoo is just such a helpful option ;) xx
DeleteThank you :) thanks for commenting!
ReplyDeleteI use to bite my nails like crazy when I was younger, got a lot better now but occasionally when I'm stressed I bite them shamefully! Definitely don't wash my brushes as often as I should either! Oops!
