Every Photo Tells A Story | #VantagePoint Project

Barcelona. One of my favourite and most memorable cities. Now I don't boast to be a photographer (I am far from that) I just love taking photos with my camera from an angle or place, as I saw it through my eyes at the time. I believe every photo captures a special memory, that we will never be able to live again but is there for us to always remember.

I was introduced fairly recently to Light, a new camera technology company. Their aim is to make high quality photography much easier to access, ultimately packing all the functions of a DSLR into a much more compact camera. This is something I am dying to get my hands on when it's back in stock, it looks amazing! Their new #VantagePoint project has really inspired this post, as it's all about a photo and the story behind it. I love this idea because like I said before, I truly believe every picture holds some kind meaning or has a great story to tell.

Barcelona has to be one of the most artistic places I've ever visited, filled with so much history. Each day we were there was a brand new adventure and our last day meant that we would be going to visit Park Guell. I had heard many good things about this place, so I knew we weren't going to leave disappointed. It boasts beautiful views over the city and is home to some of Gaudi's most major work.

It was a moody, winters day in early January when we arrived at Park Guell - which for me, made the setting all the more peaceful and serene (besides the hustle and bustle of tourists of course!) It's a very relaxing and intriguing place, so I am glad our 40 minute walk through the back streets of Barcelona didn't completely go to waste! It's a shame it wasn't sunny, but hey.. We can't have it all!

As we admired our surroundings and incredible views, I got out my Nikon D3300 and played around with the zoom, settings and angles until I found a frame I was happy with. I'm not totally clued up on what settings I used at the time, as I do have a very basic knowledge of DSLR's. One thing I do know is that I was very pleased with the outcome! I wanted to capture some of the mosaic seating, aswell as the incredible views that lie behind it. I love that although it was a moody day, I feel like all the different colours surrounding the park brought so much more life to the photo.

It was nice to spend a day away from the central parts of the city and embrace the intricate beauty that hides away in the hills. I love that travelling to all of these amazing places gives me such wonderful opportunities to photograph and look back on!

Do you have any favourite memories from a photo? :)

  6. Barcelona looks like such a lovely city. I've been once but I was too little to remember. Your photos are beautiful. I use the camera on on my phone right now but I'd love to progress to a DSLR once I can afford it.

    1. Thank you! Awww, it's great to say you've been though! Also so worth going back to see it all if you get the chance :) Really?! All your blog photos are so fab, I would never have guessed it was your phone! I still like to use my phone camera as it's so easy but DSLR's are great for the more technical side of things! Hopefully you manage to get one someday :)
