Last week, I was very excited to be invited to the Velvet Birdcage Spring/Summer 2016 Collection Launch. If you are familiar with the South East, Velvet Birdcage is a beautiful Dress Boutique in Worthing, West Sussex. They stock anything from Exclusive, Bespoke and Bridal Dresses, to your perfect Prom night frock!
Not only that, whatever colour theme you are looking for - they are pretty much guaranteed to have it! Who doesn't like being spoilt for choice? I don't know about you girls, but I love nothing more than lusting over beautiful ball gowns (wishing I was a Disney Princess) and eyeing up my future wedding dress.
During the evening, there was a catwalk to showcase some of their new collection and oh my goodness, I was blown away! I'm annoyed with the lack of photos I got for this part, but I'm not amazingly great at using my camera yet, so hopefully you can forgive me!
Anyway, the dresses being showcased were absolutely stunning - as were the girls modelling them! The first half of the catwalk was showing off their new prom/evening dress range. I wish I'd have known about this shop before my prom, but hey.. That was a looong time ago now! Some of the collection would also make perfect bridesmaid dresses, the designs are endless!

When the time eventually comes, I will 100% be there to pick out my wedding dress. Their new bridal range is just out of this world! The different styles of dresses are so unique, I didn't even know those kinds of styles existed until then! They have a great selection of White, Ivory & Cream dresses in all different lengths and shapes. Anything from your simple, classic dress, to an intricate beaded ball gown.

The layout of the shop is so pretty, and the chic, quirky decor really gives you a comfortable feel. It is split into different sections, with plenty of space to mooch and try things on if you wanted to. One side of the shop being bridal, and the other half being prom - plus any other dresses for a special occasion. I almost felt like I was in 2 different shops, alternating between the two!
The girls who work in there are so accommodating and friendly, I didn't really feel awkward for a second. Although I wasn't actually purchasing anything myself, I know that if I was, I'd feel really at ease knowing that I was going to speak to someone who really knew their stuff and wasn't going to make me feel pressured.

Now, no event would be complete without complimentary food and drink, right? These little nibbles just made their way right into my belly. It looked like a professional catering display, but the girls had actually made it all themselves! And no, it wasn't the fizz clouding my judgement - it genuinely was delicious! (The temptation for me to go down and get a late night snack whilst I'm writing this is all getting too much..)
Their dress sizes range from 0-32 and are normally available in 60 different colours.
The great thing is, if you don't live locally - they have an online shop too which can be found here. It offers an amazing service where you can try before you buy. This comes at a relatively small cost per day, where they will send the dress out to you to check you're happy it, before committing to actually buying anything! On the other hand, if you like the dress - they will simply just invoice you the difference. I personally think that's great!
Another amazing feature about the shop is that you can design your own dress. This is where you can combine 2 dresses of different styles and they will tweak the materials, detailing, fastening and colour, all whilst tailoring it to best suit your body shape. So in a nutshell, you can create your dream dress and sit back and let someone else do the work for you!
At the end of the night, everyone got given little goodie bags, which included a lolly and a face/hair mask which was such a nice touch! All in all, I had a great evening and I honestly can't recommend this place enough. I strongly suggest you check them out! I hope they stick around for years to come because I know where I'm heading when I have to prepare for my big day!
